Who can do this with default user permissions?
The Assignments Report shows you assignments (both complete and incomplete) that have been assigned to students in a specific class within a given time period. You can filter the view by subject, choose to show only your own assignments, and toggle between viewing the list by assignment or by student. Teachers can also use the report to add new assignments.
- Use the Class drop-down list at the top of the page to choose which class to view assignments for. You will only be able to select one of your own classes.
- Select the subject: Math, ELA, Social Studies, or Science.
- Use the Time Period drop-down list to focus on assignments that were assigned during a specific time period.
You can choose from several standard time periods or select Custom time period (this will open two date drop-downs where you can select the start and end dates you want).
- Check Show my assignments only if you want to limit the view to assignments that you assigned (for example, if more than one teacher can add assignments to the chosen class, you may want to limit the view to just your own assignments).
The report automatically updates based on the choices you make.
On the By Assignment tab, you can choose to view All, Incomplete, or Complete assignments; you can also check Assignments First Mode to enable this mode if you haven’t already.
For each assignment, the date it was assigned, its title, practice mode, average accuracy, and completion rate are shown.
Select the on the left to open an expanded view, which shows the status for each student the assignment was given to (name, time completed, time spent, whether the student was supported with walkthrough videos, how many times the student attempted the assessment, and what their best score was). Links may also be provided that allow you to perform follow-up tasks: reviewing challenging questions, reassigning standards, viewing inquiry based lessons, etc.).
A drop-down list at the far right of each assignment provides additional options:
View Report: Shows an assignment session report, which provides detailed information about student performance on that assignment.
When you click on View Report you'll be taken to an assignment page where you can see students grouped by performance, along with recommendations for those groups.
- Assign Again: Lets you re-assign the assignment to students who have already completed it, based on whether their score on the assignment classified them as Struggling (<50%), Approaching proficient (50%–79%), or Proficient (>79%).
- Edit title: Lets you change the title of the assignment.
- Add or remove students: Allows you to choose additional students to give the assignment to, or remove students from the list of assignees.
- Remove / Mark as completed: Changes the assignment to Complete, even if some of the students it is assigned to have not finished it.
- Share Link: Creates a link for the assignment that students can use to go directly to it. The link can be copied and pasted in Google Classroom, Edmondo!, or shared through Remind.
On the By Student tab, you will see a table listing the status of all assignments of the chosen type given to the selected students during the time period specified.
The student’s score on an assignment will be listed in the appropriate column. Incomplete assignments are listed as Incomplete; assignments that were not given to a student are listed as Not assigned. Select the student’s score to see recommendations and links for next steps (assigning DOK challenges, reassigning standards, assigning prerequisite skills, etc.)
Use the Previous and Next links at the top to scroll left and right through the table of assignments.
Select Download Data above the table to download the entire table as a .csv file (which can be opened in a plain-text or spreadsheet program).
