Issue
School administrator cannot use premium features when logged in as a teacher via Freckle on Renaissance Growth Platform (RGP).
Reason
Renaissance school administrators have the option to access Freckle as a teacher or an administrator. Premium features are only available to users who have been assigned to an active Freckle class in Renaissance.
Resolution
Use one of the options below to allow an administrator access to assign Freckle work to students.
Assign the administrator as a team teacher to an existing Freckle class
- From your Home page, select your name in the upper-right corner, then select Manage Apps & Users, and then select Classes & Courses.
- If you have access to more than one school, select a school from the School drop-down list. Use the Search by drop-down list to choose what to search for (course name, course code, or class name). Enter what you want to search for based on the drop-down selection, then select Search.
- Next, select the class name and then select Add/Remove Teachers. Search for the personnel user you would like to add. In the search results, check the box for each teacher you want to add and select Assign Teachers. The teacher(s) will be added to the table on the right. Select Done, and then select Save.
Create a new Freckle class for the administrator
- From your Home page, select your name in the upper-right corner, then select Manage Apps & Users, and then select Classes & Courses.
- If you have access to more than one school, select a school from the School drop-down list. Next, select Add a Class.
- Select which course the class will belong to, enter the class name, select the class marking period (keep the school year selected if this class will span the full school year), then select which product(s) to assign > Continue.
- Search for the teacher you want to assign, check the boxes in front of their names in the search results, then select Assign Teachers. If you are assigning more than one teacher to a class, choose the Lead teacher on the right side of the page. Then select Continue.
- Search for the students you want to enroll in the new class. You can select a grade and select Search to list all the students in that grade, or you can search by student first or last name, username, or ID. Check the box in front of each student you want to enroll, then select Enroll Students, and then select Continue.
Have the administrator log in as a teacher
- From Home page, select the Freckle tile, then select Administrator.
- If you have access to more than one school, select a school from the School drop-down list at the top left of the page.
- Under Manage Roster, select Teachers. Search for the teacher(s) you want to log in as.
- Select the blue arrow next to that teacher's name.
